H προσπάθεια της Volkswagen να αποζημιώσει τους πελάτες της, οι οποίοι οδηγούν ένα από τα μοντέλα που περιλαμβάνονται στο σκάνδαλο των εκπομπών της εταιρείας είναι πλέον επίσημη.

Σύμφωνα με το δελτίο τύπου, οι αναφορές που υπήρχαν εδώ και κάποιες μέρες ήταν πράγματι σωστές, καθώς η εταιρεία θα προσφέρει κάρτες δώρων 1.000 δολαρίων καθώς και άλλα κίνητρα στους πελάτες της VW και της Audi, τα οποία εφοδιάζονται με τον 2-λιτρο TDI κινητήρα. Έτσι, επιπλέον των 500 δολαρίων που δίνουν οι αντιπροσωπείες, οι ιδιοκτήτες πετρελαιοκίνητων αυτοκινήτων θα λάβουν επίσης μια Visa κάρτα δώρου ύψους 500 δολαρίων, καθώς και δωρεάν οδική βοήθεια για τρία χρόνια.

Οι ιδιοκτήτες θα πρέπει να επισκεφθούν έναν ειδικό site, όπου θα πρέπει να συμπληρώσουν τον αριθμό πλαισίου του αυτοκινήτου τους, των διανυθέντων χιλιομέτρων, καθώς και τα προσωπικά τους στοιχεία. Η Volkwagen αναφέρει ότι πελάτες της θα λαμβάνουν το πακέτο δώρου σε διάστημα ενός μηνός.

On September 18, 2015, the Environmental Protection Agency and California Air Resources Board notified Volkswagen that certain 2.0L 4-cylinder TDI vehicles do not comply with applicable emissions regulations.

Over the past several weeks, we’ve apologized to our loyal customers about the 2.0L TDI emissions issue. As we work tirelessly to develop a remedy, we ask for your continued patience.

In the meantime, we’re providing affected 2.0L TDI® owners with a $500 Volkswagen Prepaid Visa® Loyalty Card, a $500 Volkswagen Dealership Card, and no-charge 24-hour Roadside Assistance for three years*. We sincerely hope you see this as a first step toward restoring your invaluable trust.
