Η GM ανακαλεί 1,4 εκατ. αυτοκίνητα, η Jeep 93.895 Cherokee λόγω κινδύνου πυρκαγιάς

H General Motors ανακοίνωσε πως ανακαλεί 1.411.332 αυτοκίνητα της που εξοπλίζονται με τον V6 3,8-λίτρων κινητήρα της, στον οποίο μπορεί να προκληθεί πυρκαγιά. Από την ανάκληση επηρεάζονται τα 1997-2004 Pontiac Grand Prix, 2000-2004 Chevrolet Impala, 1998-1999 Chevrolet Lumina, 1998-2004 Chevrolet Monte Carlo, 1998-1999 Oldsmobile Intrigue και 1997- 2004 Buick Regal, στα οποία λάδι του κινητήρα, μπορεί να στάξει πάνω στην πολλαπλή εξαγωγής κατά τη διάρκεια απότομου φρεναρίσματος, κάτι που θα μπορούσε να προκαλέσει πυρκαγιά. Κατά τα τελευταία έξι χρόνια η GM γνωρίζει 19 περιστατικά στα οποία άνθρωποι τραυματίστηκαν ελαφρά, ενώ συνολικά υπήρχαν 1.345 αναφορές πυρκαγιάς.

Η Jeep από τη μεριά της ανακαλεί 93.895 Cherokee στη Βόρειο Αμερική στα οποία οι γραμμές του κλιματισμού σε ορισμένα αυτοκίνητα, ίσως έχουν τοποθετηθεί λάθος κοντά στην πολλαπλή εξαγωγής του κινητήρα, κάτι που υπό ορισμένες συνθήκες θα μπορούσε να προκαλέσει πυρκαγιά.

GM Statement:

General Motors is recalling 1,283,340 older sedans and coupes in the U.S. from the 1997 to 2004 model years because drops of oil may be deposited on the hot exhaust manifold through hard braking, which can cause engine compartment fires. GM is working on a remedy. The company is aware of post-repair fires in some vehicles but no crashes or fatalities. There have been 19 reported minor injuries over the last six years. These vehicles with 3.8-liter V6 3800 engines are affected: 1997-2004 Pontiac Grand Prix, 2000-2004 Chevrolet Impala, 1998-1999 Chevrolet Lumina and 1998-2004 Chevrolet Monte Carlo, 1998-1999 Oldsmobile Intrigue and 1997-2004 Buick Regal. Including Canada, Mexico and exports, the total population is 1,411,332.

Statement: Air-conditioning System

October 27, 2015 , Auburn Hills, Mich. – FCA US LLC is voluntarily recalling an estimated 75,364 U.S.-market SUVs to inspect and replace, as required, their air-conditioning lines, as required.

FCA US launched an investigation after the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration received two customer complaints involving smoke and fire. The Company discovered air-conditioning lines on some vehicles may have been installed in close proximity to their engines’ exhaust manifolds; under certain operating conditions, this may pose a fire risk.

FCA US is unaware of any related injuries or accidents.

The recall is limited to certain 2015 Jeep Cherokees. Additional vehicles are affected in other markets. They include an estimated 7,571 in Canada; 4,018 in Mexico; and 6,942 outside the outside the NAFTA region.

Affected customers will be advised when they may schedule service, which FCA US will provide free of charge. . Customers who observe air-conditioning loss or any other concern, such as a dashboard warning light, should contact their dealers. Customers with additional questions may call the FCA US Customer Information Center at 1-800-853-1403.
